Sanctuary Festival '08 - You CAN bring alcohol on site

We have had many questions with regards to bringing alcohol and soft drinks to the Sanctuary Festival 2008 and would like to announce our new policy on this.

Previously, no alcohol was to be taken on to site whatsoever.

This still applies to people buying Saturday Only tickets.

However – anyone who has bought a ticket for the Full Weekend with Camping and is arriving on Friday 8th August will be allowed to bring the following amounts for consumption within the campsite.

Firstly there must strictly be NO GLASS of any kind allowed on to the festival site at any time.

Allowance per person:

1 litre of soft drink (Sealed – if seal is broken container will be confiscated)

8 cans of beer, lager, cider or alcopops up to 500ml per can/plastic bottle (Sealed – if seal is broken container will be confiscated)

Quarter bottle of any spirit up to 250ml (bottle must be plastic)

There will also be alcohol and soft drinks available to buy on the campsite, which will be at discounted prices.

For example:

Lager and Cider will be priced at the following amounts in the campsite bar tent:

1 can = £2.50

4 cans = £8.00 (£2 per can equivalent)

24 cans (Crate) = £35.00 (£1.45 per can equivalent)

Any drinks brought in to the campsite or bought in the campsite cannot be taken into the main music arena area. There will be bars in the main music arena area.

Basically if the seal is broken on anything else bar the plastic spirit bottle then you might have added spirits to the berr / alcopop bottles so its just to stop you taking in more spirits than what your allowed... hope that helps x

Thanks for your help! Is that a general assumption or has SV confirmed?

I can't believe they'd expect us to go about it any other way though to be fair. I hope you're right lol!

Cheers again!

Idea - if your allowed to go back to your car then keep more there once you've finished your 1st lot LOL x

im guessing its reasons like this that they have banned bringin alcohol full stop before, although people are probably thinking of this its not good 2 say it incase they do try and ban it agen for next year
